Application of fungal-based MFC in mixed pollutants solutions

Abstract: This presentation investigates fungal-based microbial fuel cells (FMFC) for degrading organic pollutants both individually and as a mixture solution while exploring energy generation potential. Electrochemical analysis using Linear Sweep Voltammetry (LSV) on a Glassy Carbon Electrode (GCE) was employed to monitor degradation patterns. A dual-chamber MFC setup was utilized, with one chamber facilitating oxygen reduction and the other chamber containing a mixed pollutant solution. Results demonstrate effective degradation of all compounds over time, with differences observed between individual and mixed degradation rates. This presentation underscores the potential of fungal-based approaches for sustainable wastewater treatment and energy production.
